MWFF 2012: Montreal World Film Festival

The Festival's official poster is designed by Amira Daudi.

This year represents the 36th edition of this widely popular Film Festival which will  be held  between August 23 - September 3, 2012. It will offer to its wide and dedicated audience 432 FILMS FROM 80 COUNTRIES.

The festival will present:

212 feature films (110 world or international premieres) 
16 medium length films (12 world or international premieres)
 
144 short films (94 world or international premieres)
 
60 films in the Canadian Student Film Festival
 

The jury judging the films will be presided by the actress Greta Scacchi. 

The films will be presented under the following categories:

World Competition (features and shorts) 
First Films World Competition (features) 
Out of Competition (features) 
Focus on World Cinema (features and shorts) 
Documentaries of the World (features, medium-length films, shorts) 
Canadian Student Film Festival (short films)

Our Cinema – Review of a year of hits (features)

The Festival will open with a Chinese film Million Dollar Crocodile, which will be presented at the opening night at Place-des-Arts. 


The festival will also feature:

A master class with Volker Schlondörff 
A tribute to Mel Hoppenheim
